Cordoba

Last Saturday we took a day trip to Cordoba, home to one of the world's most incredible religious buildings, La Mezquita. This was originally a small mosque but over centuries it has been added on to, demolished in places and reconstructed and now functions as a Cathedral. As you walk through this monument it's amazing to see how two vastly different cultures such as Islam and Christianity can come together to create something unique and awe-inspiring.

Catedral Parte I

Alright. So these are some pictures I took at the Catedral de Sevilla last Wednesday when we went on a trip as a group. I'm definitely not satisfied with the number of photos I took, mostly because we were being rushed through in order to talk about the history of the monument. Anyways, this is more of a sample of what is to come of the Catedral itself...but there is something special towards the end of the post. So please enjoy la Catedral...

I love the contrast of the gold and the gates and the carved ceilings.

Cristobal Colon's grave

Alas, what you've all been waiting for and my favorite part of the day...climbing 34 stories to the top of La Giralda and looking down on the city I've been lost in for the past 3 weeks. In true creeper fashion I did the best creeping I've ever done, from above on an unsuspecting city. I loved this view and I hope I captured some of the awe I felt last week for you to see.
